# Meta-time

## **Meta-time Overview** <a href="#meta-time-overview" id="meta-time-overview"></a>

**Meta-time** is the time users spend being online in Metafluence. Meta-time is a public stat. Each user’s meta-time is displayed in **User Profile**. Meta-time is calculated only in the “game world”, not in the menu.

The measuring unit of meta-time is **hours**. Tariffication of meta-time starts from 5 minutes of being online. The value should be updated & uploaded to the database constantly (in the background).

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Meta-time** is not being counted while users are in AFK State.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Meta-time is also used as one of the requirements for **rank advancement.**

<details>

<summary>AIM of Features</summary>

1. Distinguish & reward the most devoted users based on their online time.
2. Additional metrics for tracking active users.
3. Create a base requirement for the Meta-Rank feature.

</details>

<details>

<summary>User story</summary>

**Example:**

*A user spends 4 hours (real time) in Metafluence app. This makes **4 hours of meta-time.***

</details>

{% hint style="info" %}
Metafluence **time flow (environment)** is different from real-time (RT). 2 hours of RT is equal to 1 day & 1-night shift in Metafluence.
{% endhint %}

## **AFK State** <a href="#afk-state" id="afk-state"></a>

**The Away From Keyboard (AFK)** state is activated when a user is not performing any actions (text/voice chat, emotes, walking, running, browsing, etc.) for **5 minutes.**

When a user is in an AFK state, **an idle animation of his avatar** is constantly played, and the **"AFK" text is displayed** above his username.
