Emotes

Emotes are animations of different actions performed by user avatars.

In Metafluence, emotes are collected by users as rewards or exclusive gifts. Basically, they are like permanent items in user inventory that can be used unlimitedly.

What is an emote in a game?

(in an online chat or video game) a typed command or code translated into a descriptive account of an action or emotion or that causes one's in-game avatar to perform an action or emotion: Standard emotes in online video games allow you to cheer, greet, and thank other characters.

  • Only 1 emote can be activated at a time.

  • Each emote differs in duration (seconds).

    • Dancing emotes are looping until interrupted.

  • During emote animations, users can not perform any other actions, like movement. Movement interrupts the emote animation.

AIM OF THE FEATURE
  • Add fun animations for users & create fun content;

  • Increase social interactions between users;

  • Allow users to express their emotions/reactions without using communication channels;

  • Add a rare resource that can be obtained from rewards, shops, and achievements.

Desired emotes can be chosen & activated in the pop-up radial Emote Menu (press the "E" key & move the mouse in the direction of the targeted category/emote).

Emote Categories

Emotes are thematically categorized as below:

  1. Interaction emotes: interaction animations like "Like", "Dislike", "Hug", "Wave", "Hi/hello", "Raise a hand", "Clapping" etc.

  2. Reaction emotes: animations that express some sort of emotion, like "Love", "Disappointment", "Disturbed", "Angry", "Laughing," etc.

  3. Dancing emotes: dance styles like breakdance, robot-style, freestyle, etc.;

  4. Fun emotes: funny & awkward animations like "Pretend dying", "Muscles" etc.

  5. Pose emotes: posing emotes ("waiting", "crossed arms" etc.).

New categories can be added in the future.

Categorization only for development/community purposes. There is no category separation within the game.

All dancing emotes stay in the loop until users cancel them or initiate another emote.

Emote Rarity

There are 3 rarity tiers of emotes: common, rare, and epic.

Emote complexity, style, duration, and animation depend on how rare the emote is.

Common Emotes

Some common emotes are available for all users by default. The other emotes have to be collected as rewards (rank upgrades, achievements, etc.).

Rare Emotes

These emotes can be received as rewards for hard achievements or higher-rank upgrades. Also, can be purchased in-game.

Epic Emotes

Rare emotes can be purchased in $METO store or received for special rare achievements.
